What is enuresis?

What is enuresis?

Nocturnal enuresis is the involuntary emptying of urine during sleep in children older than 5 years of age. After 5 years of age it is considered that the child should already have control of their toilet bowls.

They are manifestations of this condition:

  • Child over 5 years old who does not control her urination.
  • You urinate involuntarily and do so several times a month.

Why do children wet the bed at night?

Enuresis is a condition associated with various causes, which favor the emission of urine during sleep.

There are different manifestations of enuresis, the child may pee during the day and at night, or it may only be done at night when he is sound asleep. The healthcare provider will ask you if this happens in the morning or at night.
